The Valentine Day is coming soon. And you want to make it special this year. Are you are bit tired of the Valentine’s Day cards and decorations that offer the shops? Then, why not to make them by yourself! It is always a great option, because it is personal, cute and, because of that, just adorable. No matter really are you able artist or crafting is your hobby – important thing are a good idea and a bit of spare time.
The materials you might need for this project you probably already have at home, and other bits and pieces you can easily buy in any arts and crafts or hobby shop. So, here we go with suggestions that will inspire you to give a try and surprise your loved one.
1 Valentine Day decorative wreath
Just like a heart in love, these hearts are all aquiver. Dozens of colorful hearts flutter on cardstock cut into a wreath shape.
Use paper punches or scissors to cut hearts from colored vellum and lightweight decorative papers. Curl the cutout hearts by scraping them between your thumb and a butter knife just as you would with curling ribbon. Then layer the hearts on the cardstock base and attach each heart with a dab of clear-drying glue, either in the center or near one edge. Hang the wreath with ribbon.

Using a die-cutting tool, cut a quote and glue the letters to black cardstock. Tape the finished piece to a mirror with an intricate frame to finish the Valentine’s Day decoration.
To make it easier, you can browse your old magazines (with glossy pages, if possible) and find a suitable letters to cut out. A bit like a blackmail message, but with right words you can turn it to charming gift.

Sweetly displayed trinkets become endearing tabletop ornaments.
Place sparkly jewelry, a colorful bloom, a pretty bonbon, glittery faux gems, pearly stones, or other tiny treasures in a clear votive holder. Top the votive with a valentine-theme paper cupcake liner, and tie in place with colored string. Arrange an assortment of votives on a tray for a festive tabletop display.
All you need for this is few simple (and cheap) glasses, decorative papers, and ribbons. And, of course, trinkets to put inside glasses – nice chocolate, old memories, small presents, old photos…

5 Heart bookmarks for (book)lovers
The perfect gift for someone who like to read. And easy to make with a minimum of materials needed. For the red-and-cream bookmark, cut a rectangle shape out of cream-color felt and trace a heart on the back side; cut out with scissors. Glue the piece onto red felt and trim edges with scallop-edge scissors.
For the stitched bookmark, use disappearing ink to mark stitches, then do a simple running stitch with embroidery floss along the lines. Cut a heart from red felt to glue on the front.
